The BIG Capstar Project!
(for those that might be creative)

So, the story is that I created one of these for Battalion Headquarters the other day.

I thought that I’d stick it online for anyone that wanted it?

BUT , the idea is that if you do your own ‘Big Capstar Project’ you take a picture of it, with you in it perhaps, so we can stick them online?

this image ..............split into 9 equal parts ..........

What is it?

This is basically an image that has been divided into 9 (nine) equal parts, all of which are A4 in size.  Once they are printed they all form a larger images, as seen on the left.

Now you could print them off in A5, A5, A4, A3, A2 and the biggest one A1 if you want – but keep them to the ‘A’ sizes that way it’ll keep in perspective when it is printed.

things you'll need for this project ........
What do you need?

1. A computer, hey you’re on this so the first tick in the box!
2. A printer, good if it can do borderless prints as the final version will look better.
3. Nine (9) frames, try A4 frames, only a couple of quid each.
4. Some A4 paper or card.  Don’t use photo paper as it will be behind glass so you won’t see it anyway.
5. Some patience!

What do you do?

Download the 9 images from the link below (make sure you click 'all sizes' to get the largest image available), print and frame.

Once you have them all you can hang them on the wall to form the image, which indecently is the Coldstream Guards during Her Majesty’s Birthday Parade and the Mortars firing during Op Herrick (Afghanistan).

The one I did was mounted on wood before hand, each frame was fixed to a wooden board, and the board mounted on the wall (good old Pioneers).

If you just want a complete print of the image, you can find that at the link above as well.

If you do the project, please send us a photo of your work and we’ll stick it on this page!

Enjoy.
