It is with
great sadness that the Battalion report the death of LCpl Tony
Carr. He will be greatly missed by his friends and
colleagues.
LCpl Tony Carr,
21, of the 1st Bn Coldstream Guards was killed on
Friday 3rd December after the Saxon vehicle which he
was commanding was involved in a road traffic accident returning
from an exercise on Salisbury Plain. The exact cause of the
accident is not yet known, and it is currently being
investigated by Wiltshire Police.
LCpl Carr was single and from Sunderland.
Rejoined the Army in November 2000 and had served with the
Coldstream Guards in Northern Ireland and on ceremonial duties
in London. He had recently been involved with trials for BOWMAN,
the Army's new digital communications system.
A highly thought of
member of the Battalion with excellent prospects, he will be
greatly missed by his friends and colleagues. Our thoughts are
with his family at this time.
The funeral for LCpl Carr will
take place on Monday the 13th of December at 10:45hrs - held at
