Shropshire Accommodation. Lilywhite Cottage in the
Heart of Ironbridge
Lilywhite cottage in the heart of Ironbridge is a
terraced cottage built in the late 1700's for the
workers of the Coalbrookdale Co. during the heyday of
the industrial revolution.
Views to the River Severn and tucked into the hill side
town of Ironbridge, Shropshire Lilywhite cottage is
situated 200 metres from the famous landmark itself. A
myriad of timeless alleyways will lead you to the heart
of the town with ample pubs, cafes and restaurants, just
two minute walk away.
Two parking spaces, off road and immediately in front of
the cottage will ease your stay. A large terraced south
facing garden with ample garden furniture will allow you
to enjoy the spectacular views of the listed vista which
is the Severn Gorge.
Access to the cottage is through a stable door leading
you into the traditional furnished living room. Equipped
with limestone flags, original oak beamed ceiling,
antique oak furniture, leather chesterfield suite
focused around an inglenook fireplace with a multi-fuel
Coalbrookdale stove.
The
ground floor is multi level and a few steps up will see
you move into the dining room
with heated limestone floor and traditional oak
furniture; this room is separated from the kitchen by a
few more steps and beautiful locally hand crafted
bespoke iron railing. The adjoining kitchen, also hand
crafted and recently fitted (2008) boasts all modern
appliances, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer,
microwave and gas hob with double oven.
Back into the sitting room you will find the stairway
taking you to the first floor, here you will find the
master bedroom with wooden floor, original oak beam
ceiling and king size four poster bed with ample
wardrobe space and an adjoining WC. Further up the
stairs and
you
will reach the second landing with a well equipped and
newly fitted family bathroom
and a second double bedroom, again with beamed ceiling
and wooden floor. The final set of stairs will take you
to the loft conversion, a modern looking room in
comparison to the rest of the cottage. Furnished with a
second television and further sitting room with luxury
white leather settees in this light and airy room. In
addition a further double bed can be found in this room,
however you may be woken early with the sound of the
dawn chorus in the garden outside the window!
The house is well equipped with Ipod compatible radios
in all rooms, the living room has an LCD Television with
Sky freeview (bring your sky card for more channels!).
Centrally heated radiators and under floor heating with
a multi fuel burner will ensure that you are kept snug
whatever time of year you visit.
Facilities include: Washing Machine, Dishwasher, Multi
Fuel Burner, Shower, Central and under floor heating,
Digital TV, bedding and linen.
Prices are £425 per week (off peak) and £550 (Peak: 13
Dec - 03 Jan 09, 11 Apr - 18 Apr, 02 May - 30 May 09, 04
Jul -05 Sept 09, 12 Dec - 02 Jan 10).
