Families
and Welfare - Local Community Events & The AWS
The
Army Welfare Service (in conjunction and support with the local
Borough Council) provides a wide range of ‘Community Activities
& Courses’, ranging from Computer Classes to Card Making
Courses.
Some of these classes are free, and most of them are subsidised
making it an ideal way to start a new hobby and get out and make
new friends – all this plus a free crèche facility if you have
little ones (only provided if space available when you book your
course).
Most (if not all) of the events take place at the Broom Farm
Community Centre, located on the Broom Farm Estate. If you are
interested in attending one (or more) of the courses you should
give the AWS a ring on the details below and look out for a
‘Course Enrolment Day’.
To view the latest activities and courses you should you wish to
speak to any of the Windsor AWS Staff, you can reach Dani Bowman
(Senior Community Development Worker) or Debbie Hiley (Community
Development Worker) at the AWS office on 01753 862307.
Puddleduck Crèche (the local crèche on Broom Farm) is open Mon
to Fri 9am– 12pm, for further information please ring 01753
869672.
