SAVE A STAMP - The History
©ShinyCapstar.Com

Save a Stamp was initially invented as a way for Coldstreamers to send messages to one another whilst away on Operations and Courses (before everyone had an e-mail and facebook account).

Now days, it is used to send messages to serving Coldstreamers in Battalion.  By clicking on the mail man above, you will be transported to a confidential form that will allow you to send message to someone in the Battalion (unfortunately, not for those in training or posted away from the Unit). Ideal for someone who wishes to send a message to someone quickly but is unsure of their e-mail address, postal address, or even a fun way of sending a message.

The Mail-Box will be emptied every 72 hrs, but we cannot confirm or guarantee that messages will be passed (hundreds of messages are received monthly).

Please make sure you fill in as many details on the form as possible, it makes the postman's job that little more easier!

SAVE A STAMP - Not Working?
©ShinyCapstar.Com

In the unlikely event that the mail man function is not working, then the facility can still be used by sending an e-mail to
admin@shinycapstar.com.

Please ensure you have the following details (or the e-mail WILL NOT be passed on).

1. Who you are;

a. Your Full Name.
     b. Your e-mail address (for the person to get back to you).

2. Who the message is going to;

a. Regimental Number (if possible).
     b. Company (if possible).
     c. Person's Rank & Name.
     d. Last know employment (if possible).

3. Lastly - your message to the person.

The more information you can give us - the easier it will be to deliver your message!

F.A.Q Section

So What's "Save a Stamp?"
Save a stamp has been created for you to get a message to someone in Battalion. This person must be located in the Battalion (explained later).

So what do I have to do?
Save a Stamp does all the work for you, and is very simple to use. All you have to do is have some kind of basic knowledge of the person who this message is intended for. It works like this:

1. You click on the mail-man above, (The one with the Coldstream Capstar and Blue Red Blue Patch).

2. You fill in the fields, (who it's to, who it's from etc). Remember the more information you can give will help in us finding the person.

3. When you click on the "Save me a stamp" button on the bottom left, the message will then be delivered confidentially to an administrators e-mail address, and forwarded on to the addressee.

Simple as that, and best of all IT'S FREE.............but remember, your IP ADDRESS will be logged for offensive messages that you try and send anonymously.

Why would I use "Save a Stamp?"
Imagine you want to get in touch with your mate, who you last saw a few years back in the Battalion, or you are a Coldstreamer attached overseas and want to get a message back to Battalion.

You've forgotten his Regimental Number, and don't know what Company he's in! But you do know his full name.

By using "Save a Stamp", we'll get your message and between all the admin team we're bound to track him down and give him the message.  After all, as we say, we are a "Family Regiment".

Does "Save a Stamp" cost me anything?
Defiantly not. As explained before, all we do is pass on your message to the addressee. You are using "ShinyCapstar" as a middle-man. If the person is away from Battalion (leave, Course etc), but will be returning back shortly we will leave the message in the internal post.

Is the information I supply Confidential?
Absolutely. There will only be two people reading your message. Firstly the Admin Member who receives the letter who must identify who the message is for, and then must check to make sure that the message is not abusive (don't worry though, we all have a sense of humour). This message will then be printed out and placed in an internal envelope, sealed until the addressee opens it. We will also guarantee that any information supplied is given to the addressee only, and not to any unscrupulous third parties (you know the one's that spam your e-mail address!).

This seems like a lot of work, surely it can't be so simple, what's the catch?
No catch, no payment, no holds. Totally free, but if you found this useful why not recommend it to a friend after all ShinyCapstar will only grow with more interest!

How can I confirm that my message has been delivered?
We will not reply back to individual messages to let you know if it's been delivered. Hundreds of messages get to us every week. We're sorry but we haven't the time to reply back to everyone.
