FAMILIES / WIVES EVENTS
WINDSOR, 2006
A number of events have taken place over the last couple of months
that have primarily been for families or indeed wives/partners of members of
the Battalion (or attached). All of these events are ran by the
Welfare Office, supported of many elements of the Battalion in order for
these functions to be the success they are. Particular thanks should
go to the 'Wives Club' who help out with many of the events.
Elsewhere on this site you'll find information and images on
other events that have taken place such as the extremely successful 'I'm a
Coldstreamers Wife - Get me out of Here!'. All events have been a
great success and highly enjoyable to all those that have attended.
Below are a few images and information from recent events.
Ladies Dinner Night - February 2007
In February, the Wives Club with
support from the Welfare Office, organised a Ladies Dinner Night. This was a
brilliant success, and those asked that attended said it was one of the
‘best nights for a long time’. The function took place in the Wakefield Bar
in Barracks, and some 60+ attended for a night of entertainment, food, a
raffle, lots of excitement and finishing off with ‘Nobby’s Disco Delights’.
The function started with free drinks at the bar, and moved onto an
first-rate curry buffet (provided by the excellence of the catering
department). The entertainment package came in the form of a talented &
gifted hypnotist, who managed to convince certain participants that they
were on a very hot beach (no clothes were removed), had won the lottery, and
had a best friend as a little fairy that lived in a packet of lambert and butler – who was then ‘squashed’ by the hypnotist
much to the dismay and upset of everyone………………confused? you had
to be there!

Children's Party March 2007
Back in January, the
Welfare Office unfortunately had to cancel a children's party that was
planned due to low attendance and operational commitments. However, it was
promised that the event itself would not be cancelled but postponed, and put
on again on another date - this took place in March 2007. It goes
without saying that that all of those involved in the administration and
setting up of the event played a key part in the success of this event, in
particular special thanks should go to Krystina from Krystina Variety Agency
who provided the children's entertainment and huge party games.
For more details on this fantastic Entertainments Agency, who can provide
anything - believe me - anything,
please give Krystina a call on 0118 986 4135 or 07831 635662.
Other details and entertainment packages can be found on the website at
www.Krystina.co.uk.
The Battalion made one call to this agency and everything was done for us
- thoroughly recommended!
If you are a PMC of a Mess, or just need some entertainment give Krystina
a call - they'll do their best to help!
The Children's Party was another success, and featured:
Huge Party Games (Connect 4, Jenga etc) - Extremely HUGE GIANT indoor
assault course - Punch & Judy & Magic Show - Party Food - Wild West and SA80
shoot - Two Bouncy Castle - Soft Play Area (for the younger ones) - plus
lot's lot's more.
And, to top it all off, the event itself was FREE to anyone that attended!
Images are below from the event, in no particular order
