1st Battalion Coldstream Guards
The 1st Battalion are currently stationed at Victoria Barracks, Windsor
in a Ceremonial Role. The Battalion deployed to Afghanistan in Sep/Oct
07 and are due to return in Apr 08. A compiled list of where the

Regimental Headquarters Coldstream Guards (RHQ)
RHQ is located in Wellington Barracks, just across the road from
Buckingham Palace. Most (if not all) of the Guards Regimental
Headquarters are located in this Barracks.

No. 7 Company Coldstream Guards
Number 7 Company is an Incremental Company of the Coldstream Guards,
with a main role of Public Duties. 7 Company was formed as the 2nd
Battalion Coldstream Guards were placed into Suspended Animation on the
31st of December 1993. The original purpose of number 7 Company
was to uphold the customs, traditions and spirit of the 2nd Battalion,
whilst performing public duties and a state of readiness to take on the
role as a Traditional Infantry Company. They were granted full
permission (Royal Assent) to carry the Queens and Battalion Colours of
their parent Battalion
7 Company recently moved from Chelsea Barracks to Woolwich after being
here since formation (read

No. 8 Company Coldstream Guards
Number 8 Company has been formed and disbanded many times. The
last time was whilst the Battalion was stationed in Aldershot.
No. 8 Company was disbanded in April 2002, serving members of the
Company were posted to the 1st Battalion and No. 7 Company.
2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards
The 2nd Battalion Coldstream Guards was officially placed into Suspended
Animation on the 31st of December 1993. In June/July/August of
1993 some serving members formed No. 7 Company (see above), others
joined the 1st Battalion in Munster, Germany - just in time for the
Bosnia Tour in November 1993.
3rd Battalion Coldstream Guards
In 1897, Coldstreamers were reinforced with the addition of the 3rd
Battalion. The 3rd Battalion was placed in suspended animation in
1959
4th & 5th Battalion Coldstream Guards
During World War II, two addition Battalions were raised (4th & 5th
Battalion), these were disbanded in 1946 and distributed their personnel
between the newly formed 1st and 2nd Guards Training Battalions.
Tracing or tracking (as some like to say) a Coldstreamer can be a
very daunting and stressful time!
That said, if the Coldstreamer is still serving then he will more
than likely (unless he is posted to another Unit) be located at one
of the addresses above (with the Bn, at No. 7 Coy are even with RHQ).
If you know that the soldier is within the Battalion, and know of
his details then you could try the "Save
a Stamp" feature.
Although we would very much like to we do not have the resources or

colleagues or family members - or to gain information of how to do
it
